Why Should I Travel?
Because, honestly… life is too short to stay in one place.
JUST KIDDING. Kind of. 😏
As corny as that sounds, it’s true.
Travel isn’t just about posting cute pictures or checking cities off a bucket list—it’s about living fully. Everyone travels for different reasons: some want to escape, some are chasing self-discovery, some are just on vacation.
For me? I travel because there’s so much to see, taste, and experience that it would feel criminal to stay put. And let’s be real, most people regret not traveling enough when they’re older. It’s one of those things that sneaks up on you; you think you’ll have time, and then suddenly… life happens.
Here’s the truth: travel heals you, but yes it can also be stressful. Missed buses, confusing subway maps, language barriers, or figuring out how to ask for directions in a country where you don’t speak the language. It’s frustrating, humbling, and often hilarious.
But that’s exactly where the magic happens. You learn. You grow. You discover how resilient you are, how much patience you can muster, and how to navigate the unexpected. You also learn so much about other cultures, and more importantly, about the people around you. Understanding traditions, gestures, food habits, and even a few phrases in another language opens your eyes in ways that books or documentaries can’t.
You start to see the world from multiple perspectives, and that changes you as a person.
And of course, travel is about experiencing life fully: tasting a perfectly spiced curry in a tiny street market in India, joining a local dance circle in Brazil, or sipping tea while watching the sun rise over a quiet Japanese temple.
Every experience, big or small, teaches you something new about the world, about others, and about yourself.
Travel makes life messy, exciting, uncomfortable, delicious, and unforgettable all at once. It reminds you that the world is huge, vibrant, and full of experiences that can change you… if you let them.
So, the real question isn’t why should I travel? The real question is: why the heck wouldn’t you?
